Brun de Vian-Tiran joins Treca Stores: textile excellence in the service of sleep

In a union of heritage and refinement, two iconic companies of French know-how join together to offer a new sleep experience. One of these is Brun de Vian-Tiran, a family business making exceptional fabrics founded in 1808, which perpetuates the art of weaving using natural fibres in the heart of Provence. The other is Treca, which specialises in luxury bedding, and which for over 90 years has symbolised the art of sleep French-style. Their collaboration, now visible in Treca shops, brings together tradition, innovation and well-being.

A unique textile heritage in France

Established for over 200 years at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Brun de Vian-Tiran is the last wool producer in France to fully master all the stages of turning fibre into the finished product. These local roots are not just geographical: they are the very soul of the business, which has been handed down from one generation to the next in the Brun family. Under present-day directors Pierre and Jean-Louis Brun, the company symbolises a remarkable continuity, founded on its origins but also on its forward-looking vision.

The river Sorgue actually crosses through the historic manufactory buildings. This physical proximity to nature is typical of Brun de Vian-Tiran’s approach. He sees raw materials not just as a resource, but as a partner. Each fibre is carefully selected, respected, worked with patience and attention to detail, in a quest for excellence and authenticity.

In search of the most beautiful fibres in the world

Since its foundation, Brun de Vian-Tiran has only worked with natural, renewable and noble fibres. But beyond this requirement, the company stands out due to its capacity to explore the world in search of the rarest and most luxurious fibres. This is how it has launched on the French market fibres like Baby Lama from Peru, as soft as a caress, or Himalayan Yak, with a unique feel and enveloping warmth.

The company also imports Cashmere from Mongolia, Mohair from South Africa, and Camel Hair from Inner Mongolia, while fostering relationships based on trust with breeders who use sustainable practices. These raw materials are selected using strict criteria in terms of fineness, softness, resilience and traceability.

However, Brun de Vian-Tiran never forgets his French roots. One of his company’s landmark projects is the rediscovery and appreciation of Mérinos d’Arles Antique®, a breed of sheep native to the south of France. This wool, the finest in Europe, comes from a protected herd whose wool is gathered respecting the animals and the environment. It symbolises both the French agricultural tradition and a contemporary desire to relocate textile production.

Unique and superb craftsmanship

What distinguishes Brun de Vian-Tiran is the complete mastery of the wool supply chain. Where others rely on sub-contractors, here the process covers every stage of in-house production. From the selection of fleeces to dyeing, through the stages of washing, carding, spinning, weaving, fulling and finishing, each process is carried out in the workshops at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

The process is lengthy and demanding: fifteen stages, all manual or semi-manual, demand very special skills. Old ways of working, which have sometimes disappeared elsewhere, are still practised here every day. This valuable know-how has helped Brun de Vian-Tiran to gain the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label, a Living Heritage award recognising French companies that demonstrate excellent know-how.

A sustainable approach, well ahead of time

Long before ecology became a global emergency, Brun de Vian-Tiran had already followed a policy of sustainable production. The whole production process aims to minimise the impact on the environment, based on rational use of water and energy, waste reduction, non-polluting treatment of fibres, choosing short supply chains and prioritising renewable resources.

The company’s business model is based on a simple but powerful concept: produce less, but better. Each throw, each cover, each fabric is designed to last down the years, sometimes for generations. No throw-away mentality here! Buying a Brun de Vian-Tiran product means making an investment in time and common sense.

A natural meeting with Tréca

It is this concept of sleeping well and producing well that drives the partnership between Brun de Vian-Tiran and the Treca Shops. The two companies share the same vision of comfort - based on the body’s needs, sensuous nature, and respect. Treca’s mattresses and bed bases are renowned for their craftsmanship, their French production and their tailor-made comfort. A new dimension for the bedroom

The accessories displayed in Treca’s shops are not simply add-ons. They transform the bedroom into a veritable cocoon of well-being, a place where sleep becomes a multisensorial experience. The softness of baby lama, the enveloping warmth of Mérinos d’Arles, the lightness of cashmere – it all invites you to just let go.

As well as the thermal and hypoallergenic properties, these accessories are also attractively designed. The shades are natural, calming, created to blend with any décor. The finishings are discreet and elegant, without being ostentatious. The materials are luxurious and sensuous and will appeal to anyone looking to give new-found meaning to their purchasing policy.

A collaboration based on shared values

This partnership between two excellent French companies rests on solid foundations. Brun de Vian-Tiran and Treca share a passion for work done well, a preference for noble materials, and the will to create a certain French style of living. They foster a virtuous model based on quality, proximity, and respect for nature and humankind.

Through this collaboration, they propose a new concept of bedding: no longer just a simple functional tool, but rather a symbol of global well-being, which is aesthetically pleasing, sensorial, sustainable and profoundly human.

Sleep differently, live better

In a world in search of direction, a more leisurely pace and authenticity, the partnership between Brun de Vian-Tiran and Treca resonates loud and clear. It shows a shared belief: that sleep deserves the very best materials, the greatest care, and that it can become an indispensable, harmonious and restorative ritual.

By bringing their two worlds together, the two companies invite us to give new meaning to our nights, making the bedroom a place of beauty, calm and regeneration. An invitation to sleep better, but more importantly – to live better.
