It is not necessary to wash your item before its first use.
We recommend that you take it to the dry cleaners for dry-cleaning (making it clear to them that it is a wool product) once a year under normal conditions of use.
As far as regular care is concerned, we suggest that you air your bedroom daily (including in winter) and, if you can, air your plaid when you change your bed linen. This will allow natural moisture to escape.
